Stupid Space Karen is crippling Twitterjaya by continuing its meltdown and alienation of its user base. Now, the timeline embed function is no longer working.
Earlier this week, TweetDeck (the classic version) stopped working. The new, TweetDeck Preview is stupid, and may be a pay-to-use feature in the near future. For a long time, I avoided updating when the stupid Chirp font was foisted upon its user.
I eventually updated, as some tweets weren’t showing up at all. Still some bugs remained. For instance, some gif (from the gif chooser tab) would cause tweets to fail to post. When posting a long thread, this is infuriating, you have no idea which tweet in the series with the offending gif. Even worse, there’s no way to copy off the rest of the thread to continue posting.

Some images falsely flagged as ‘fleshy’ (I’m assuming) can’t be sent by DM on web, but goes through if using the mobile app, go figure. Today, a Twitter timeline embed spews this error. A tweet embed still works though. He’s been huffing too much space rocket fuel fumes again. Stupid Space Karen is crippling Twitterjaya.
Since Space Karen brought a sink into Twitter’s headquarters, a few pretenders have come to usurp Twitter’s throne but failed. A recently launched Twitter challenger, called Threads by Meta has been launched. A lot has been said about Twitter’s inevitable demise, but it has yet to happen, and I wish it does now, more than ever, just as a slap to the face for a certain space-rocket-fuel-huffing-idiot.

Threads being a Meta product, will not do it for me. I’m not keen on picking up another social media app, fact is Twitter has been the only major social media app for me, lockdown Covid made me an active user of it. Pre-Covid, it was just an avenue for me to check up on the latest football transfer news. Now, it’s just a source of grievance.
Update (July 2023)
- The timeline embed is working now, but you have no control over how many tweets to show.
- TweetDeck, the much loved classic version came back, for a short while. Now it just shows a sign up for the premium feature, but for the new TweetDeck.
