Youtube Vanced quit working on one of my phones.Reinstallation didn’t work and as feared, Vanced may have reached the end of the road. But Youtube Vanced lives on.
A quick reinstallation helped Youtube Vanced lives on, but not for my other phone when its Vanced’s install also quit working. The videos will not load, thumbnails will show, but an error will pop up when you choose a video. Shorts’ videos load up with no issues, though. Symptoms are the same for both phones when Vanced failed.
Youtube Vanced has been discontinued since March of 2022, but unofficial variants have popped up since. Youtube ReVanced is one of the more fancied alternatives being bandied about. I tried hopping over to ReVanced, but the transition wasn’t smooth, and I much prefer Vanced’s familiar user interface.
ReVanced has received a lot of flak for their documentation, but in all fairness, it’s a free app. This ReVanced guide on Reddit might help if you need to transition over to ReVanced.
A quick read up on Reddit revealed that it’s happening everywhere, with Vanced continuing to work for some. Like me, some report it working on and off on the same phones. Diving deeper into Reddit, I stumbled upon this workaround. Seems to have fixed it, fingers crossed. Youtube Vances lives on, for now. Long and prosper may its official or otherwise, be.
